AS-level (plural AS-levels)

  1. (UK, except for Scotland) Short for Advanced Subsidiary level, an exam sometimes taken in the first year of sixth form, as a first stage in completing an A-level qualification.

Usage notes

AS-levels have bene mostly phased out since September 2019. Most sixth forms now instead do all papers at the end of Year 13, though some continue to offer AS-level courses in other contexts.
