From Proto-West Germanic *unsik (“us”) with *-ik added by analogy with *mek. Cognate with Old Saxon ūsik (“us”), Old High German unsih (“us”), Gothic 𐌿𐌽𐍃𐌹𐍃 (unsis, “us”).
