From (deprecated template usage) [etyl] German (deprecated template usage) Zwieback, from (deprecated template usage) zwie- "twi-" + (deprecated template usage) backen "bake" (twice-baked), a calque of (deprecated template usage) [etyl] Italian (deprecated template usage) biscotto.[1]
