Wollombi is a village located at the edge of the Hunter Valley wine country, in New South Wales, Australia.

Understand

Wollombi is located at a fork on the convict built Great North Road.

Get in

By car

Wollombi is 29 km south-west of Cessnock on Wollombi Road. A very pleasant route, through picturesque rural countryside.

Get around

The village centre is very small and easy to walk around.

See

St John's Anglican Church
  • Heritage buildings, including the school building (c1881) and the general store.
  • Former Courthouse. The former courthouse was built in 1866 and is now a small historical museum. $2.

Do

  • Picnic in Anzac Park.

Eat

  • Margan Winery. Hosting the Beltree restaurant which is definitely worth a lazy Saturday or Sunday meal. Coupled with the wine produced at the Vineyard, this is a must try on the Hunter circuit

Drink
