The Coming of Bill (1919)
by P. G. Wodehouse
The story first appeared in Munsey's Magazine in May 1914 under the title The White Hope; then in book form in the US in 1919 as Their Mutual Child and in the UK in 1920 as The Coming of Bill. A silent film version of Their Mutual Child was made in 1920. Unlike most of Wodehouse's novels, it is not a comic novel.
