Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

@Mach61 Per Wikipedia:WikiProject Automobiles/Conventions, automobile articles are always at "Make Model" for consistency. --Ahecht (TALK

Its better to have a "Tesla" name at the front just for disambiguation. Cooldudeseven7 (Cheers! Let's Discuss over a cup of tea!) 15:34, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Intrisit Start an RM for these mass changes. There is not unanimous consensus for this format, and it does appear to contradict a relevant guideline, so this is not uncontroversial. C F A 💬 22:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

There is a third-party news source confirming this name change. https://www.govtech.com/biz/engagement-tech-firm-citizenlab-rebrands-as-go-vocal This wrong name on Wikipedia is causing issues with how our company is being shown in Google SERPs :) Sören3300 (talk) 14:15, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@CFA would this suffice as sources/proof the page should be moved? Sören3300 (talk) 06:53, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Belbury It doesn’t appear that the Oslo company is the primary topic based on page views. Currently Psynapse and Psynapse (comics) combined have about as many page views as Emmasofia. So per WP:NOPRIMARY instead we can establish a DAB page at the base name by moving the current Psynapse to Psynapse (comics) (to preserve the page history as the base name article used to be an article before it was merged and turned into a redirect, so we need to preserve its history) and then link to the existing comic redirect and create a new page for the Oslo organization at Psynapse (organization) Raladic (talk) 21:39, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
