The result was redirect to Athletics at the 1984 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metres. Database entries are not considered significant coverage, as generally speaking they are mere lists of basic facts/statistics without elaboration. Keep and tag with refimprove. Failing that, redirect to Athletics at the 1984 Summer Olympics – Men's 100 metres per Lugnuts and WP:PRESERVE, etc. The nom says I can't find any significant coverage. Well, I immediately found this and I wonder how much more there is out there in Lebanese sites and in books about athletics, the Olympics, Lebanese sport, etc. Johnpacklambert, why do you vote delete when SIGCOV is only a guideline whereas PRESERVE is editing policy? Surely it is obvious that a redirect helps any future editor who does have access to a book about Lebanese athletics. Would you please THINK about an article's potential before going for the delete option? Say, for example, we have two English footballers whose articles are both one-liners with a single source. One of them played in a handful of EFL matches, the other is a long-term non-league player who has never represented an EFL club. Common sense must tell you that the former has notability potential and that, per PRESERVE, his article should be redirected (perhaps permanently, perhaps temporarily) to an appropriate list of players. The non-league player does not have notability potential and his article should of course be deleted. Persistent demands for delete in the face of PRESERVE is a major cause of conflict within AfD. - Wikipedia does not have a grandfather clause. Just because someone spent 3 minutes creating an article along with a few dozen others or maybe even hundreds that day does not make that a subject that Wikipedia has to cover forever for all time in some way. For the record, if the nominator had done a thorough BEFORE, they would have found the World Athletics site and should then have mentioned it in the nomination as the only other source found.
