English varieties

[edit]

There is no preferred version of English at Wikipedia. There are templates ({{Use British English}}, {{Use American English}}, {{Use Indian English}}, etc.) that are often placed on pages to indicate which variation should be used, but in the absence of that, if a single variation is already in use, do not change it. For example, in this edit at Adrian Riley, you changed many words that used English spelling to instead use American spelling. Since Adrian Riley is a British person, it is more likely that British editors will edit the page, so British spellings are expected to predominate. Indiscriminate linking

[edit]

While it is always desirable to add Wikilinks to articles where appropriate (see WP:Wikilinking), adding inappropriate links is not helpful. In this edit at Thembavani, you added a link to Tobias, but that linked article is not about the Biblical character, but instead is just about the name "Tobias". Please be more careful in the future in considering which terms to link (see also MOS:OVERLINK) and which articles to link to. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 15:57, 15 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
