A barnstar for you!

The Tireless Contributor Barnstar
For all your work on Red Dead Redemption 2 and related articles. Lordtobi () 13:10, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Thanks, Lordtobi! I'm a big fan of your work (especially with Rockstar San Diego recently, which has come out beautifully), so I really appreciate it. – Rhain 13:32, 15 October 2019 (UTC)
Thank you, I appreciate your kind words, and Rockstar San Diego has finally passed GA now, too. Slightly related to the above, I was wondering if you were planning to ever bring more GTA articles to GA status. The GAs for GTA 3, 4 and Vice City are your work and the GTA V FA received a lot of contributions from you. Grand Theft Auto Online, Music of Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas all have great potential but are, unfortunately (especially with GTA:SA), in undesirable shape. I'd be open to collaborating, depending on what kind of writing process you employ. Lordtobi () 11:07, 12 November 2019 (UTC)
@Lordtobi: Congratulations on Rockstar San Diego passing GA! I appreciate your question about GTA. I certainly had intended to work on more of them in the future—I actually have an offline draft of an in-progress rewrite of San Andreas that I started to work on quite a while ago. I started keeping track of the articles some time ago over here (though I can't say I'm in favour of the characters articles at present). It would take quite some time to, say, complete a good topic, but it's not a task I'm opposed to! – Rhain 15:21, 12 November 2019 (UTC)

Avi Kaplan

Hi Rhain. I noticed that you keep reverting my edit to Avi Kaplan's page, where he is described as Jewish. I want to make it clear, that although he identifies as Jewish, his lineage is purely paternal, thereby rendering his status as a Jew obsolete. In Judaism, Jewish blood can only pass through the mother, never through the father. Even though his family name is a very prominent Jewish surname, he only received it because it belonged to his father.

So, i was not vandalizing the page when I say that his father is Jewish. His father is very much Jewish, just not very religious. That's why he took it lightly to marry outside of his faith, and marry a Christian woman. And the end result is a Christian son with a Jewish name.

Yes, Kaplan has Jewish blood. Yes, he calls himself Jewish. But he is no expert, having grown up almost completely secular, with almost no connections to Judaism.

But even if he himself calls himself Jewish, that will never validate his true status in Judaism. If he really wants to be Jewish, he can convert. Or, of he doesn't want to be religious, he can continue to live his life the way he has been for his entire life. But,. he can't call himself a Jew.

It's not hugely important, but if there is false information found, it should be corrected. That's all I'm trying to do. I'm just trying to make sure that the real truth is being displayed, rather than petty misconceptions.

I will wait awhile before re-editing the statement, so that we can have the chance to talk, and clarify with each other what our intentions are.

thanks so much for your cooperation, and I await your reply!

@ProZion Afrika: He identifies himself as part of the Jewish religion, which I have clarified. – Rhain 00:01, 9 November 2019 (UTC)

I know he identifies as a member of the Jewish religion, but, as I stated earlier, his claim is not relevant enough for validity. He is not a practicing member of Judaism, nor is he Jewish by reason of blood. Therefore, by no standing arguments can he claim this identity.

You simply cannot "Identify" as being Jewish, when you're not. You yourself are not an expert in the field of Judaism, neither is Kaplan. He only knows what his parents told him, and they themselves are severely lacking in knowledge on the subject.

I do not deny that he identifies as a member of the Jewish faith. But his claims are invalid, therefore I took it upon myself to clarify his true identity, since I know better than he does about Jewish classification.

Please allow me to make an edit, and do not revert it. I will re-write the sentence so that it says the truth, but without making it look like he was confused or lying.

Thank you.
