Welcome
[edit]Hi Redwren101 - Welcome to Wikipedia! I notice that you're changing the wording of many articles from "committed suicide" to "suicided" and thought I would give you a suggestion. I understand your rationale I think, but I believe you may encounter resistance since the word is not commonly used as a verb by the average reader. (Mental health providers probably understand your position, but that's not our target audience for WP articles.)
My suggestion would be that you start a new topic at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Death and see if there is widespread support for your changes. Otherwise I'm afraid you might find your changes simply reverted by lay readers who have not been affected personally by suicide. In fact, it looks like that has already started happening to your edits. Many people (including me) may prefer to omit the word suicide entirely when possible, replacing it with a concrete description of what happened (like "intentional drug overdose"). Once you have some community consensus at the WP Death talk page, it may be easier to implement this widespread change. EricEnfermero HOWDY! 11:54, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion. I will refrain from this until I see what reaction the existing edits receive.Redwren101 (talk) 12:07, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Declining a British honour may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.
