Hi! This is my talk page, feel free to drop me a message. To experienced editors: feel free to stalk my talk page and reply to any threads here.To admins: I prefer that my talk page remain unprotected, even if it's being vandalized. Such edits do not particularly bother me and I prefer to remain accessible to anyone who would like to reach me. However, if the volume of vandalism is so high that no other solution would stop disruption, I don't mind if my talk page is semi-protected for a day or two. Hopefully, this is a rare occurrence.

Question from Southbeachcody (17:34, 5 October 2024)

[edit]

Hey Elli, I’m looking to create a wiki page for the owner and CEO of our new company. He’s a former college football star and former nfl player so I’m surprised he’s not on here already. Do you know how I go about creating a page rather than editing a current? --Southbeachcody (talk) 17:35, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Southbeachcody: Help:Your first article has instructions for how to create a page. However, I strongly discourage you from writing about a subject you have a conflict of interest with. If you share their name, though, I could see if they are notable. Elli (talk | contribs) 17:37, 5 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
his name is Tony Kennedy, here are a few notable links. Not a conflict of interest. Just looking to get a page with his early life, college, nfl, current.

[edit]

Hi there, how do I add further images to an existing page ? --SCTidy (talk) 15:12, 11 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@SCTidy Help:Pictures should explain how to do this. Please let me know if you more questions :) Elli (talk | contribs) 14:50, 13 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Category:2030 in American law indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. Liz Read! Talk! 19:17, 17 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Some clarifications on rules

[edit]

Hello @Elli I'm curious about a recent incident and I'm looking for clarification cause I often have difficulty navigating Wiki's rules. On this page under "Add (disputed) to fascism in ideology" I see a user with over 500 edits here and an IP address rather than between "two users" as such. I get that the user also didn't follow rules for language purposes but I thought users without accounts weren't even supposed to contribute to discussions and only able to add opinions?

I'm asking because I've been bumped out of discussions such as this by 500+ edit users while in this situation I see an IP address being given that access if you get me? I also thought they weren't allowed to take part in consensus votes without an account?

Thanks! Galdrack (talk) 10:18, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@Galdrack hi and thanks for reaching out. Unregistered people are allowed to engage in discussions just as other editors are. However, in some (but not all) contentious topics, there's a 30/500 restriction in place, limiting discussions in that scope to registered editors who have had an account for a month and have made at least 500 edits. However the SSNP doesn't obviously fit into a specific CTOP that has those restrictions (though maybe it fits into WP:CT/A-I). So you or anyone else, including IPs, can discuss things there. (Also I'm well aware that our procedures around this sort of thing are confusing. Feel free to reach out if you want more clarification.) Elli (talk | contribs) 21:55, 18 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
