Mini-review

[edit]

I think that you can take this to GAN; it's pretty close. References check:

Luftwaffe.cz has clearly mentioned its list of Sources here. Almost all of these are considered primary references on Wikipedia. Besides, I have provided my own primary references in almost all places where I have cited this website. I use this website primarily for the list of all 127 victories that Oesau had. More from a corroboration perspective. Perseus71 (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As to the other website, Historia.nom.br, I'd agree. Hence I am withdrawing all the citations attributed to that website. Perseus71 (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Stay consistent in your in-line citation formatting - put the year in parenthesis, or don't put the year in parenthesis. Pick one. :)
Point Noted. Will Correct accordingly. Perseus71 (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
This quote was cited to the Historia.nom.br. The citation code had a typo. I am completely removing as the website is no longer referenced. Perseus71 (talk) 03:37, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please let me know weather I can nominate this article directly for GAN and/or you'd like to review it yourself directly ? Thanks Perseus71 (talk) 03:54, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to nominate it for GAN here, but I've got too many reviews waiting for me over here. :/ My apologies, —Ed 17 (Talk / Contribs) 04:01, 28 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Resting place

[edit]

According to the German Wiki article on the Invalidenfriedhof Cemetery, Oesau was burried in Berlin. MisterBee1966 (talk) 09:04, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is possible that the tomb in Berlin (if there indeed is one) is a memorial tomb, and doesn't contain any remains at all. For example - Manfred Von Richthofen is also no longer in Berlin, he was moved to Wiesbaden, where the rest of his family is buried (except his father and brother Lothar, whose remains are now under a soccer field in Poland.) Likewise Oesau's original remains are still at the Friedhof of Meldorf. Only a memorial may be present in Berlin. Perseus71 (talk) 00:22, 8 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wehrmachtbericht transcript

[edit]

I'm removing the Wehrmachtbericht transcript; pls see discussion at NPOV noticeboard on the topic. According to feedback there these quotations fail WP:UNDUE. K.e.coffman (talk) 03:00, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article contains seven citations to a self-published fan site:

  • Kacha, Petr (2007). "Walter Oesau". Luftwaffe.cz. Retrieved 20 February 2007. {{cite web}}: Invalid |ref=harv (help) This also has complete list of his kills by dates, target and location.

In addition, it contains a citation to an fringe publication:

  • Huß, Jürgen; Viohl, Armin (2003). Die Ritterkreuzträger des Eisernen Kreuzes der preußischen Provinz Schleswig-Holstein und der Freien und Hansestadt Lübeck 1939–1945 (in German). Zweibrücken, Germany: VDM Heinz Nickel. ISBN 978-3-925480-79-9. {{cite book}}: Invalid |ref=harv (help); Unknown parameter |trans_title= ignored (|trans-title= suggested) (help)

I'm sure that other sources used in the article can be unpacked in a similar fashion. Given the WP:QS sources, the level of detail in the article is undue. I tagged the article accordingly. K.e.coffman (talk) 01:07, 23 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

They all seem to be part of multiple cites for the same information so I have removed them. If this poses a problem revert and then we can add it to the list already at the Reliable source noticeboard. AIRcorn (talk) 21:07, 2 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
