Chevron PhillipsChevron Phillips ChemicalRelisted. The discussion seems to be avoiding what the common name may be which is an important factor here. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:20, 1 February 2012 (UTC) Chevron Phillips is incorrect name. The full name of the company is Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC and the short(common) form of it is Chevron Phillips Chemical. Beagel (talk) 05:26, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

All three versions are used by reliable sources. Chevron Phillips is shorter, although it isn't used by the company and Chevron Phillips Chemical (with or without "Company") is probably more recognisable. Peter E. James (talk) 12:41, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Agree. The company is known as CP Chem in the industry. Sandcherry (talk) 13:09, 25 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • The mentions of "Chevron Phillips" there include some followed by "Chemical Company" or "Chemical", others separated by a slash (where it isn't being used as a name) and several mentions of Chevron and Phillips together in a list. All variations of the name seem to be used equally often. Peter E. James (talk) 21:42, 8 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Searching for "Chevron Phillips Chemical" gives 5,420 (books) and 913,000 (web). Using instead "Chevron Phillips" −"Chevron Phillips Chemical" (i.e. short form with no mention of long one) yields 3,090 and 495,000. Favonian (talk) 17:51, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support – While not presuming the use of a laborious official name, Chevron Phillips Chemical helps identify that the subject is a only subsidiary merger, and of what nature, which both seem like importantly distinguishing aspects, while it is also not longer than usefully necessary. I suggest that it is thus a rational choice for common name. ENeville (talk) 03:32, 18 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
