Joana Biarnés (Terrassa, 1935-2018) was a Catalan photographer and photojournalist. She is considered Catalonia's first woman photojournalist, experienced some of her most active years towards the end of her life; highly emotional moments in which her professional career received recognition. Her work was also presented during this later period in various exhibitions and the book Disparant amb el cor (Shooting from the Heart), was also published by Editorial Blume, in addition to also being present at many festivals.[1]
