Shahin missile system (Persian: سامانه موشکی شاهین)[1][2][3] is an Iranian advanced medium-range surface-to-air missile system[4][5][6][7] which was introduced by Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics (6, June, 2009).[8] According to the (former) minister of "Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces Logistics", Mostafa Mohammad Najar: Researches, structure and production of this defense missile --including: missile, search-radars, pursuit of target, software/hardware networks and launching platform -- are entirely indigenous (of Iran). He added:[9]

This advanced defense missile (system)[10][11] has the range of --more than-- 40 kilometers, and is able to pursuit (and target) the airplanes and helicopters of the enemies smartly --and with ultrasonic speed. Other features of this system missiles include: Resistance to electronic warfare; Ability to track fast goals; Very high volume of debris at the moment of collision with the target.[12]
