Joseph Atubokiki Ajienka (born 10 January 1955, Rivers State, Nigeria) is a Nigerian professor of Petroleum engineering, educational administrator and incumbent vice chancellor of University of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria[1][2][3].
Life and career
He was born on 10th January, 1955 in Okrika, Rivers State, Nigeria. He attended Okrika Boys’ School Okrika, River State between 1960 to 1968[4]. He had his secondary education at Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Borokiri, Port Harcourt, River State where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate in 1973[5]. He obtained a Bachelor of science (B.sc) degree in Petroleum engineering from the premier University of Ibadan, in 1980 . He obtained a Master of engineering (M.Eng) and Doctorate (P.hD) degree from the University of Port Harcourt in 1986 and 1990 respectively. He joined the service of University of Port Harcourt in 1982 as a graduate assistant in Department of Petroleum engineering where he was later appointed a professor of Petroleum engineering[6]. He was appointed head of the Department of Petroleum Engineering in 1995 and served in that capacity for two years.
