Raaz 3 is an upcoming Bollywood horror film directed by Vikram Bhatt, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt.[2] The film is a sequel to Raaz – The Mystery Continues (2009), which itself was a sequel to Raaz (2002), and features Emraan Hashmi reprising his role from the second film, and with a new addition to the cast, Esha Gupta. Bipasha Basu, who was a part of the first film of the Raaz series, has made a comeback to the series after opting out of the second film. Jacqueline Fernandez makes a special appearance in the film. Currently in the post-production stages, the film released on September 7, 2012 with paid previews on September 6,2012.[3] Although, the film was originally planned to release on 31 August 2012 alongside Barfi! and Joker, it was later delayed to avoid clashing with any other big film.

Plot

The story revolves around Shanaya (Bipasha Basu), an actress at the height of her success. She gets offered the best roles and wins all the awards she's nominated for. In addition, she also has a passionate affair with a handsome director named Aditya (Emraan Hashmi). This all ends when a younger actress, Sanjana (Esha Gupta) makes her film debut. Suddenly, Shanaya seems forgotten and everybody only wants to work with Sanjana. Soon enough, Aditya also leaves Shanaya for Sanjana, and Shanaya sees her career fading away and she slowly becomes crazy. She begins to turn to black magic and makes it her goal in life to destroy Sanjana and get back the man she loves, Aditya.

Critical Reception

Shresht Poddar of Score Magazine, gave it 2 out of 5 stars & said,"Vishesh Films has always been associated with good music and Raaz, as well as, Raaz 2 had set the bar higher. Ironically, this album (as well as the recent Blood Money & Jism 2) have managed to dissolve all those standards to dust. They really need to pull up their socks and bounce back with a chartbuster score in the future."[5] Similarly, as per DunkDaft,"This..is simply below the levels of previous ones. Jeet Ganguly's score for this one, is a downer."[6]
