Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 126 (FMVSS 126) regulates motor vehicle electronic stability control (ESC) in the United States. |
== Background == |
Like all other Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, FMVSS 126 is administered by the United States Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. |
The standard establishes performance and equipment requirements for electronic stability control (ESC) systems. The standard applies to passenger cars, multipurpose passenger vehicles, trucks, and buses with a gross vehicle weight rating 4,536 kg (10,000 lbs.) or less. |
