- Why thanks, Anna. I'm sorry it took me over five years to realize you were a real person and not a bot. I suppose it'd be silly to get back to you now; you'd probably think I worked for the Postal Service. – AndyFielding (talk) 08:09, 19 October 2014 (UTC)

"Drumpfinator" oversight
Hi AndyFielding. In one of your recent edits, you changed the word "Trump" to "Drumpf". I assume that this was unintentional and caused by having the Drumpfinator extension enabled. To avoid this kind of mistake in the future, please disable the extension before editing articles that mention Trump. Thank you. —Granger (talk · contribs) 14:33, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
- You're absolutely right! Thanks for pointing that out. – AndyFielding (talk) 08:29, 11 July 2018 (UTC)
- BTW, as soon as this was drawn to my attention, I uninstalled the extension to avoid further mishaps. It's regrettable that it (briefly) caused me to be characterized as a "vandal"—however, anyone who examines my regular WP contributions should realize the accusation was unmerited. – AndyFielding (talk) 21:35, 20 August 2018 (UTC)
- Sorry—in my preceding edit summary, I thought those double apostrophes would italicize "no one". Apparently, though, styles don't work in edit summaries. (This should dispel any doubts about my sincerity—or at least my obsession with detail, which is probably the same thing here.) – AndyFielding (talk) 08:57, 13 September 2018 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for August 29
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Johann Reichhart, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Incognito (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.) It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 09:11, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
- This message was apparently in error. The simple incognito link I added points not to a disambiguation page, but to WP's article on the English word, as intended. – AndyFielding (talk) 08:42, 13 September 2018 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 28
An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Henry Seibels, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Sewanee (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). – (Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 09:05, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
- Cool—fixed. Thanks, bot! – AndyFielding (talk) 09:57, 2 November 2018 (UTC)

Whingeing about edits
I don't know whether there was any purpose behind adding stuff like this <div id="PHzVKEnhGX" class="donut-container" style="cursor: pointer; display: inline-block; display: -webkit-inline-box; width: 16px; height: 16px;"><div data-reactroot="" class="donut donut_gray"></div></div> - but it didn't seem to add anything, and in fact just duplicated some citations. You added a Facebook link, but that shouldn't be added in the middle of text (WP:EL). Ghmyrtle (talk) 15:25, 30 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for your comment, but I didn’t add any of that; it’s considerably beyond my skill level. – AndyFielding (talk) 01:43, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- Yes you did.... but, whatever. Ghmyrtle (talk) 08:17, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
- Believe what you will—I have no control over that—but I don’t even know what those things mean, much less use them.
- This is a good example of why I don’t bother checking here often. I have no time or desire to quibble over something as ephemeral as WP edits. As I’ve said below, if you don’t like something I do, undo it. But please don’t go to the length of asking me why I did it, whingeing about what you didn't like about it, etc. If you're compelled to do that, it may be a sign that you need to get out more. – AndyFielding (talk) 04:56, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Attention to reversals, feedback, etc.
I'm sorry I don't have more time to attend to this page. If you feel compelled to undo any of my edits, it's your prerogative—although for the most part, only factual oversights should need correction, as my primary focus is on simpler language. (In reference works, “less is more”.)
As a career writer and copy editor, I'm reasonably confident my contributions benefit WP's readers. Thus I'll continue following WP founder Jimmy Wales's injunction to “be bold”: “If you don't find one of your edits being reverted now and then, perhaps you're not being bold enough.” Cheers, A. – AndyFielding (talk) 01:50, 9 January 2019 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 4
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 1996–97 Bulgarian Hockey League season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bulgarian (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Grape varieties
Hi, please refer to this discussion over on Wikipedia:WikiProject Wine, with further background on /Archive 13). Wine literature since the mid 1980s has overwhelmingly shifted to fully capitalised grape varieties as proper nouns, e.g. Sauvignon Blanc over lesser- or un-capitalised alternatives. On Wikipedia, grape varieties are currently capitalised, and if there is any change to be made it is to fully capitalise them ("Pinot Noir") from their currently partially capitalised state ("Pinot noir"). Please consider reverting your recent edits on the Pinot noir article. Jon (talk) 12:11, 30 October 2020 (UTC)
- @AndyFielding: Hi, on Pinot noir I've reverted two edits that changed grape capitalisation but kept the other, which contained some other good copy-editing work (thanks!). Cheers, Jon (talk) 00:04, 13 November 2020 (UTC)
Handedness
Hello, thanks for your edits to Handedness. They're generally improvements to the article. However, I have two questions.
Why did you change the definition of ambidexterity to "equal rectify in both hands"? The word "rectify" there doesn't make any sense to me.
I also noticed that you removed the hatnote to List of left-handed people. Do you not think that this is useful for readers who are redirected from Left-hander? I know that there is a link in the See Also section, but I think if somebody searches for Left-hander, they are somewhat likely to be looking for a list of left-handed people. Should we send that to WP:RFD? —Naddruf (talk ~ contribs) 02:15, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
Hi! I'm contacting you on uninvited-behalf of Andy Fielding.
I'm assuming you haven't visited his user page, so I'm providing this quote from it, which I hope will help you re: deciding what to do about his edits:
"I'm afraid I don't have time to engage in debates about my changes. If you disagree with some, undo them if you must—but first, please consider that as long as the meaning is clear, "less is more". – AndyFielding (talk) 08:32, 7 October 2015 (UTC)"

Mark Bradford
Hello, my name is Stewart and I am working to improve artist Mark Bradford's article. I've worked with the wiki community to organize the chronology, and recently posted some suggested additions at Talk:Mark Bradford. Seeing as you actively edit articles related to visual arts, I thought you might be willing to come take a look. Looking forward to your thoughts, Stewart for HW (talk) 19:44, 7 February 2022 (UTC)
About
Why don't we slow down and stop now, to let others check the edits already done, thanks. If changes hold up for a day or so then that may be the time to continue. Randy Kryn (talk) 01:47, 8 March 2022 (UTC)

Not a direct quote
While I appreciate your improvements to the prose in various articles (mostly) I would ask that you be more careful about quoted text. Please do not put text in quote marks unless you can verify that is in fact a direct quote. -- 109.79.175.98 (talk) 15:21, 8 September 2022 (UTC)
Another note on a Star Trek episode article but not worth starting another section for it: Sometimes Wikipedia is actually done that way on purpose. Please note MOS:NUMERAL which recommends writing numbers as words rather than numerals. Someone might revert your changes.[2] I don't feel strongly about it but I would encourage you to try to use words in long prose sections such as Plot sections. -- 109.79.175.184 (talk) 13:47, 28 September 2022 (UTC)
Removing birth name/date from the early life section

- If you have made this kind of change to multiple articles please revert.[3] The article body is supposed to be the main source of information. The WP:LEAD section is only supposed to summarize not supplant what is in the main article. -- 109.79.175.184 (talk) 13:44, 28 September 2022 (UTC)

Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Alison Brie. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. Repeated vandalism may result in the loss of editing privileges. STOP REMOVING BIRTH NAMES/BIRTH DATES okay??
