Object history
English: The arms were granted in 1927, but already used since 1908. The arms show the lion of Palatinate and the vielle of Volker from the Nibelungenlied, a medieval epic poem of Germany, which plays in the area. The symbols, the lion with the vielle in his claws were first shown on a seal from 1478. In the 19th century the vielle was the only symbol of the arms.
