Le dessin est de Richard Short. L'illustration représente l'église de Notre-Dame-des-Victoires et les ruines de la basse-ville à la suite de la prise de Québec en 1759. La destruction quasi-totale des toits des résidences démontre la brutalité des attaques anglaises. English: Notre-Dame-des-Victoires, Quebec City The church was largely destroyed by the British bombardment that preceded the Battle of the Plains of Abraham in September 1759.

English: Drawn by Richard Short (birth and death dates unknown, his works are from 1754-1766), engraved by A. Bennoist (Antoine Benoist) (1721-1770).
Richard Short (fl. 1761), artist, was an officer in Wolfe's army who fought at the battle of the Plains of Abraham and Ste. Foy. While he was in garrison at Quebec in 1759-60 he executed a series of twelve engravings of Quebec which were published in London in 1761.
