Speedy deletion declined: Niagara flood
Hello Turn685. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Niagara flood, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: G1: Does not meet the Wikipedia definition of nonsense. Thank you. —DoRD (talk) 00:10, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- I did, however, delete under A7. —DoRD (talk) 00:12, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you, I couldn't find that template... :) take care --Turn685 (talk) 10:38, 17 June 2011 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for the Barnstar! Regards, Sodacan (talk) 16:02, 5 March 2012 (UTC)
Translation request
Hi Turn685,
Regarding your question, I think I would be able to do so, depending whether the text is too technical (like about plants or machines etc.). Which page do you have in mind? Happy editing!--Lionratz (talk) 11:46, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Lionratz, thank you for responding. There's an article on here called bile bear which is pretty in depth about its subject. I noticed that the article with the same subject in the Chinese wikipedia is only a few sentences long. I'd like to expand the article on the Chinese wikipedia. I put the info through an online translator (Google) into Chinese and am not sure if it's good enough to add because some of the grammar is off. I just feel that it is an important issue that people really need to know about. I'll also understand if it's not a project you want to work on. --Turn685 (talk) 19:31, 21 December 2012 (UTC)
Hi,
Where did you find Truth Magazine as a title for this periodical whose available covers all show Truth as a title? Thanks. Encolpe (talk) 08:04, 14 January 2013 (UTC)
Revising the nominations process at Wikipedia:Today's article for improvement
I'm seeking wider input on a proposed redesign of the nomination process over at TAFI. The current method could benefit from some streamlining and usability tweaks. If you feel so inclined, I'd like to hear your opinion on the matter. --NickPenguin(contribs) 23:02, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
re Allipura
I reverted back to where it was in November, before someone came along and changed a lot of stuff, removing a lot of links in the process. It's pretty bare bones now but at least it's better than it was. This should be a good template upon which to make edits. Let me know if I went too far. :) --Golbez (talk) 20:56, 4 April 2013 (UTC)
- Thank you so much! --Turn685 (talk) 18:16, 5 April 2013 (UTC)
Visual arts articles by importance
The project decided long ago not to have an importance scale, & has confirmed that decision since. You should not have set up these categories without raising it at the project. With about 18,000 articles, only 2,000 rated (often clearly very badly) it's much too late to change that. I'll nominate the categories for deletion when I get the time, meanwhile please don't add ratings. Johnbod (talk) 02:17, 5 May 2013 (UTC)
- I'm really sorry about that. I've made a request for deletion and will be working to get the categories removed/deleted. I'm really sorry for any inconvenience I caused, I'll try to fix this mistake. What I did was stupid and I'll try to fix this. --Turn685 (talk) 20:23, 24 May 2013 (UTC)

Hello. In your edit to List of subcultures, you accidentally removed the references for the Heavy Metal entry when you moved it. I have restored them. --Enric Naval (talk) 10:23, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, I'm sorry! Thank you for restoring them! --Turn685 (talk) 11:07, 6 July 2013 (UTC)
Reverted edit
I am glad to have someone else contribute, but I reverted your addition to Native American Mascot Controversy because the information on states laws was already covered in the Education section and did not need to be duplicated, certainly not as the final paragraph of the article. FriendlyFred (talk) 18:07, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- Ah, it's okay! I didn't even see that in your section! I'm happy to see someone so dedicated to this topic! :) No probs --Turn685 (talk) 08:53, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:Vittana logo.jpg)
Thanks for uploading File:Vittana logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Werieth (talk) 14:44, 7 September 2013 (UTC)

I have declined a speedy on this, as none of the speedy criteria apply. If it is to be deleted, WP:MFD is the way to go, but first: did you base any of the article Himalayan Cataract Project on it? If you did, we need to merge the histories, so that the authors of the original portions are properly credited. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:39, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- Looking at the two pages, it's clear that your article was based on the user-page version, so I have done a history-merge. What is now at Himalayan Cataract Project is the article as it was, but with the history now showing, as well, the history of the earlier edits to the user page by Kayguarnay and others. The point of all this is that the terms of the CC-BY-SA license promise all contributors that their contribution will be acknowledged. Copying and pasting within Wikipedia is almost always a bad idea (see WP:Copying within Wikipedia), because it loses contribution history; the right way is to use the "Move" function to move something like a userspace draft to the correct title, and then edit it there. Anyway, this one is all fixed now. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:12, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
- Thank you, I didn't know you could merge the histories together (or move pages back then). This is a much better solution than a deletion and I'm glad the original author can be credited. --Turn685 (talk) 16:32, 28 January 2014 (UTC)
Today's articles for improvement/Nominated articles: Encyclopedic dictionary
Hello there!! I noticed that you are active on several article nomaninations at the TAFI page, and I was just wondering if you were interested to support the nomination of an article encyclopedic dictionary.[1]
Wikipedia is perhaps the most revolutionizing act in the history of dictionaries and encyclopedias. However, there's been surprisingly little written about the other forms of encyclopedia, such as encyclopedic dictionaries.
Encyclopedic dictionary settles somewhere in-between of encyclopedias and dictionaries. It is a lot more extensive than a traditional dictionary that focuses mainly on the etymology of words, yet much more compact and concised than encyclopedias, the articles of which might comprehend up-to several pages. Webster's New Encyclopedic Dictionary serves as an example of encyclopedic dictionary.
I think a good article on encyclopedic dictionary sure would help to position our dear Wikipedia better in the field of encyclopedic history!
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work! :) Jayaguru-Shishya (talk) 21:21, 2 February 2014 (UTC)
- Sure! Sounds interesting, especially since wikipedia is a sort of encyclopedia and this would be relevant. --Turn685 (talk) 05:49, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
Our TAFI nominations
Hello there again, and thanks for supporting my TAFI nomination! I was wondering if you can help a noob a little? :P Our nominations (Visionary Arts and Encyclopedic dictionary) both were said to have been moved to the holding area[2]on February 4th. However, I couldn't quite find neither one of the articles from there. So I was thinking if you actually knew if the nomination process is still going alright? :P
Thanks dude! Jayaguru-Shishya (talk) 18:36, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Jayaguru, our articles are in the holding area list at the bottom, so they have been accepted! (see the bottom here [3]!) Good luck with your article, hope it gets picked and voted on for work soon. :) Turn685 (talk) 10:21, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah! It seems our nominations got moved to the holding area the very same day I posted you about it. This one user, Evad37 said that he is actually transferring all the succesful nominations manually to the holding area, so it might take some time.
- Anyway, should you need help writing your nominated article, please let me know! :P Jayaguru-Shishya (talk) 14:54, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

The article should certainly say something about the tax evasion case, but the material you added does need more references. The reference provided is too old (February 2014) to cover all of the content in that section (which mentions events from September 2014). This is a situation where we really need to do everything by the book. (See WP:BLP.) Zagalejo^^^ 23:00, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Latin American 10,000 Challenge invite
Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Latin America/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Brazil, Mexico, Peru and Argentina etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Latin American content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon. If you would like to see this happening for Latin America, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Latin America, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!♦ --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 00:56, 27 October 2016 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bhagipur (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bhagipur (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
