I have added (May 2020) a dozen or so references for the detail of the article. These are mostly from Brian Watters book. As a result I have removed the 'This Article Needs More References' banner. There are still a couple of areas where more refs could be useful - the section on Carronades could do with one or two more and the secion on Carron Phoenix has none. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Colgill (talkcontribs) 13:47, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

IS it at all worth mentioning that the famous wreck in 'shipwreck cove' on the coast of Zakynthos, greece, was built by Carron Company? it's placard is one of the most photographed piece of the ship. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.80.9.149 (talk) 21:41, 14 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yep, I've just added it, lack of citations around though. I might upload a picture too. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.152.97.202 (talk) 10:26, 29 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

According to MV Panagiotis#History the ship was built by Scott & Sons of Bowling - there's a citation there but I'm not sure how reliable the source is. Google search doesn't find anything; maybe parts of the ship were made by Carron Company, which is more likely as it's an ironworks and the article doesn't say anything about it also being a shipbuilder.
