Maardis (Arabic: معردس) is a Syrian village located in the Suran Subdistrict in Hama District. According to the Syria Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), Maardis had a population of 6,750 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantly Sunni Muslims.[2]

History

On 30 November 2024 during the Hama offensive, Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) rebels captured the city from the Syrian Army but were repulsed not long afterward.[3] On 3 December, HTS regained control over the city.[4]
