Rūdolfs Balcers (born 8 April 1997) is a Latvian professional ice hockey forward, San Jose Sharks prospect currently playing for their farmclub San Jose Barracuda of AHL. He was selected 142nd overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft by the San Jose Sharks.[1][2].
Playing career
While junior he played in Norway, in 2013-14 season he joined Stavanger Oilers.[3]. After three seasons with Stavanger Oilers in 2016 he moved to Kamloops Blazers WHL in Canada. After succesfull season with Blazers, he was signed to entery-level agreement with his draft team San Jose Sharks.[4]. Next 2017-18 season he joined San Jose Barracuda roster[5], San Jose Sharks farmclub. His first season with in AHL, prooved to productive (48 pts) and included AHL all-star game participation[6]
International play
After representing Latvia on junior level, Balcers was selected by Bob Hartley for 2018 world cahpionships roster.[7] In WC debut match against Norway he scored 2 goals including OT winner.[8][9]
