El Afweyn, also known as Ceel Afweyn, is a city in the western Sanaag region of Somaliland. It is the second largest city in Sanaag after the regional capital Erigavo.
Demographics
The city El Afweyn has a total population of 65,797 residents.[1] The city is primarily inhabited by people from the Somali ethnic group, with the Habar Yonis (Sacad Yoonis and Muse Ismail) sub-clan of Isaaq well-represented.
