Kulala (plural: Kulals, also known as Moolya) is a mainly Tulu-speaking community of the cultural region of Tulu Nadu in Coastal Karnataka of India.[citation needed]

The traditional occupation of Kulal people is making pottery. But now they are into different professions and making their way to grow stronger in modern society. They belong to other backward caste in India according to Indian government. They were economically well in olden days,as pot was needed to everyone. They are less populated compared to other castes.They are called as prajapati in Gujarath district.Despite this, they are well respected among other Shudra communities and their product was an essential item.They are called as wodeyar in Mysore district [1] They are noted for following a matrilineal system of inheritance called Aliyasantana.[2]
