- On Ilhéu de Santa Maria off the shores of Praia, Cape Verdean government and Legend Development Company made a legal contract and proposes to construct hotel resort and casino, its cost is around 30 billion Capeverdean escudos (250 million euros).[1] The Government conceded the islet probably for 75 years.
- UCV's Mindelo campus enlarged in the eastern portion
- February 7: Volcanic eruption ended leaving just a few buildings south of the center undamaged, buildings in the north were mostly damaged but still stands
- March 20: A total solar eclipse took place before 7:30 after sunrise, it showed at about 25-30% obscuration of the sun in the archipelago
- May 21: Passengers boarded back to their destination in Praia after waiting for eight days at Fortaleza International Airport as a TACV Boeing 757 aircraft (D4-CBP) crash landed there ruining its flaps (a component of the wing that supports the stability and speed of the flight[2]
- June: TACV opened its new air route with Recife, Brazil and replaced the Cape Verde-US (New England) flight stop of Boston's Logan Airport with Providence, Rhode Island. Also ts flight with Bissau resumed and serves as a biweekly flights via Dakar, operated by the ATR 72 aircraft.
- August 31- September 1: Hurricane Fred struck the islands of Santiago, Boa Vista, Maio, Sal, São Nicolau, São Vicente and Santo Antão.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9]
- September 4 - Electricity restored in Povoação Velha on Boa Vista island
- September 23 - President Jorge Carlos Fonseca sanctioned a bill that merges the two companies, RTC and Inforpress for entry within 30 days to create a new entity, Radiotelevisão & Inforpress, Sociedade Anónima (RTCI - Broadcasting, Inforpress and Anonymous Society)
- October 10: Praia became a sister of city of Boston, Massachusetts in the United States,[10] one of two official sister cities
- November 4: Zika virus was confirmed in the nation

- March or April: the 5th Cabo Verde Music Awards took place

- January 10 - the 2014-15 regional leagues of Boa Vista, Sal and the Santo Antão South Zone season begins
- January 13 - Batuque FC (2013/14 cup winner) defeated FC Derby (2013/14 champion) to win the 2013/14 São Vicente Super Cup.[12][13]

- February 12: Achada Grande Frente football field opened with an artificial turf added,[14] it replaced the dirt field
- April 1: Académica do Mindelo celebrated its 50th anniversary of its foundation
- April 5 - Paulense won the sixth island title for Northern Santo Antão.[15]
- April 13 - Académico 83 won the sixth title for Maio[16][17]
- April 19: Académico do Aeroporto (Sal),[18] Académica do Porto Novo (Southern Santo Antão )[19] and Spartak d'Aguadinha (Fogo)[18] were regional champions of the season
- April 26:, Académica Operária (Boa Vista),[17] Boavista da Praia (Santiago South Zone,[20] CS Mindelense (São Vicente)[21] and Sporting Brava [22] were regional champions
- April 30 - FC Ultramarina fwon the 11th island title for São Nicolau[23]
- May 3 - Beira-Mar do Tarrafal won their very first title for the Santiago North Zone[24]
- May 9 - 2015 Cape Verdean Football Championships started.
- June 7 - the national regular season finished.
- July 11 - Mindelense claimed their eleventh and recent national title, the club also qualified into the national championships in the following season.
- August 24 - AD Bairro won the 2015 national basketball championships and was the first club ever to compete in the African competition[25]
- September 16 - Desportivo de Assomada celebrated its 25th anniversary of the foundation of the club
- November - The Second Division was installed to the Maio Island League
- November 7 - The 2015-16 Fogo Island League begins
- November 13 - the 2015-16 Santiago Island League (South) begins[26]
- December: First Santo Antão Super Cup took place
- December 3 - GDRC Fiorentina announced to return after a three-year absence from the Southern Santo Antão Island League to financial concerns[27] their first match of the season was against Lajedos
- December 12 - The 2015-16 Santiago Island League (North) begins, the Second Division was restored after a nearly ten-year hiatus
- December 13 - Académica do Porto Novo won the Santo Antão South Zone Super Cup title for the season[28]
- Late-December: Académica do Porto Novo won their first and only title for the first edition of the Santo Antão Island Super Cup
- December 19: In basketball, Bairro (or ADESBA) was out of the continental competitions, the club finished 8th[29]
