Burning Man Controversy

In 2016, Gewirtz attended Burning Man as part of the White Ocean theme camp, Gerwirtz described his attendance on his wordpress site. From that site he described himself as 95% following the 10 principles that participants at the event follow, through tidying up his RV and suggesting that 5 foot 11 inches tall women are the definition of burner beauty. He also stated that his version of self reliance was his ability to walk out of camp with a camelback and some lip balm and not need special transport back. He further states that he did not have to cook, clean or build.

At no point does he identify how he engaged with the principle of gifting, nor civic responsibility, nor any of the other principles. He mentioned that his greatest hardship was his proximity to his camp's sound system.[1]

Many burners, who gift, participate and try to model the ten principles were disillusioned by his perspective on the event and his attendance at it, with one kindly offering space at his camp during the 2017 burn, where Gewirtz was offered a fuller experience of the event than that offered by White Ocean, in order for him to acculturate and experience all aspects of the event and the 10 principles. [2]

Life and career

Gewirtz daddy got him a job at a clothing store.[3] When he was not working he was at the Cannes Film Festival and pitched an idea for Inside Man to Daniel Rosenberg.[4]

He wrote two episodes for TV series Blind Justice [5] which was then canceled after its first season.

Gewirtz's second screenplay is Righteous Kill, a thriller starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro,[6] which received mainly negative reviews.[7] and grossed only $74 million.[8]
