Edit summary

I have noticed that you often edit without an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This is considered an important guideline in Wikipedia. Even a short summary is better than no summary. An edit summary is even more important if you delete any text; otherwise, people may think you're being sneaky. Also, mentioning one change but not another one can be misleading to someone who finds the other one more important; add "and misc." to cover the other change(s). Thanks! Alright I will take care of it! Thanks! Itsyoungrapper (talk) 18:27, 27 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Fiorina photo

Hello. I suggest you enlarge your proposed Fiorina photo so editors can compare it to the other larger ones. SPECIFICO talk 10:21, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for your recommendation. Now it is enlarged. Itsyoungrapper (talk) 10:39, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Tibet

Note

Just a friendly advice, this is the English WP so please do not carry out conversations in any other language, even on your own talk page, or leave translations of them. This is a very open community and using other languages, which excludes other editors, can get you into trouble. You have an en-5 on your user page, please use it. Hi, thanks for message, but as you can see above I didn't reply to those messages. I think you should notify those users who wrote on my talk page. :) Cheers, Itsyoungrapper (talk) 16:23, 18 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help me!

Please help me with... I'm thinking about using fair use to upload a picture of former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Josef Tošovský who doesn't have any picture on Wikipedia. Personally, I would upload picture published on website of the Czech Radio which credits the Czech National Bank for taking the picture in 90's. The link is here http://www.rozhlas.cz/radiozurnal/devadesatky/_zprava/sarajevsky-atentat-na-vaclava-klause-rozviril-vody-polistopadove-politiky--1618780 (it is the second picture). And here's the problem: I don't know If it's possible or not to publish it and if there's any way. I've been thinking also about using public domain (template here) that says and other such works where there is public interest in their exclusion from copyright protection or it could be tagged as an official work, such as a legal regulation, decision, public charter, publicly accessible register and the collection of its records.

Thanks for your help!

Itsyoungrapper (talk) 20:11, 18 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tošovský is alive. Wikipedia generally does not accept non-free images of living people because a free equivalent could be created. So fair use here is not an option. I'm not a lawyer, but to me "photos taken by government employees" generally do not seem to fall under the clauses of the Czech copyright law - and that is assuming that works by CNB would be considered government works in the first place, which seems doubtful. The CNB website, for example, has a copyright tag, so we can assume that at least some CNB works are not in the public domain. Thus I don't think we can reasonably conclude that the photo in question is not copyrighted. In summary, I don't think we can use that image on Wikipedia. Rollback

Hi Itsyoungrapper. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Lord Roem ~ (talk) 02:26, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Pending changes reviewer granted

Hello. Your account has been granted the "pending changes reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on pages protected by pending changes. The list of articles awaiting review is located at Special:PendingChanges, while the list of articles that have pending changes protection turned on is located at Special:StablePages.

Being granted reviewer rights neither grants you status nor changes how you can edit articles. If you do not want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time.

The article Ivo Valenta has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Re

Re: That image is clearly a very low quality image, that is completely inappropriate for a portrait in any article. It has major problems such as condescending camera angle and disturbing visible elements such as furniture and decoration, background walls and furniture similar to skin color and numerous others. A microphone and a slight facial expression are not disturbing elements.

Look at examples of proprieties of acceptable infobox portraits -as accepted by Wikipedia community- usually with focus the person's face, blurred out and contrasting background and appropriate camera angle:

If you keep adding that low quality image, you might be reported for disruptive editing.--Der Golem (talk) 20:40, 1 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
