The mall, owned by GK Development Inc., includes five anchor stores: Dillard's, J.C. Penney, Macy's, Neiman Marcus and Sears, as well as a 13-screen Rave Cinema. The mall originally featured a large winding spiral ramp in the main atrium but it has since been removed. The mall is recognized as a main shopping destination in West Fort Worth, also serving other rural cities.
Decline and departure
This section possibly contains original research. (June 2014) |
At its peak, Ridgmar Mall provided over 150 restaurants, diners, bakeries, and stores to a large number of customers. As of mid-2014, there are roughly 100 services still in operation, and around 40 vacant storefronts. Stores, restaurants and services such as Chili's, Dairy Queen Julius, El Fenix, Ridgmar Bakery, and countless others have shuttered their services from their Ridgmar locations within the past few years. It was also announced that current upscale anchor department store Neiman Marcus is presumed to be relocating to a location on 7th street in downtown Fort Worth sometime in the near future.
