Proposed rename for Asia Bibi

Greetings, you would be pleased to know that I've done the main part of the review Talk:Asia Bibi/GA1. What do you think about renaming the article from Asia Bibi to Asia Bibi blasphemy case and making the former a redirect? Similar to Madeline McCann and Rimsha Masih blasphemy case, it would be better since such a low profile individual can't have a complete biography without focusing on this event and clearly, the event itself is more notable (like in WP:PSEUDO). I look forward to your response and it won't affect the review much since article titles are beyond the scope. -Ugog Nizdast (talk) 19:01, 6 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Asia Bibi blasphemy case

The article Asia Bibi blasphemy case you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Asia Bibi blasphemy case for things which need to be addressed. Replaceable fair use File:AsiaNoreen.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:AsiaNoreen.jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —ШαмıQ @ 14:38, 26 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please use edit summaries

You really need to start using edit summaries, lest people like me come along and revert your unexplained edits that look disruptive, for example this. I refrained because you evidently worked hard to get this article to GA staus, but be advised that unexplained violations of WP:ENGVAR are not tolerated by many editors here. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:21, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the message; I'll try to start leaving summaries more frequently. As for that particular edit, up until around two days ago, the article was written entirely in American English (see here). I thought that switching it to British English was unnecessary (didn't realize there was a "use British English" template at the top of the page until a few hours ago) and switched it back. --1ST7 (talk) 03:14, 30 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I recommend this...

Hello 1ST7,

It's me Proudbolsahye, if you hadn't noticed already. How are you? I just wanted to tell you I stumbled upon this YouTube video about the Deportation of Armenian intellectuals on 24 April 1915...you know...the topic of the article we worked so hard on together :) Right when I saw this video, I thought that I should share it with you. Anyways, hope all is well. Keep on editing! Regards, Étienne Dolet (talk) 08:45, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Proudbolsahye! I've been doing great — how are you? Thanks for the link to the video; it was very interesting and very informative. I'm hoping to start editing regularly again soon, and will hopefully have time to do so within the next couple of weeks. Best regards, --1ST7 (talk) 04:58, 5 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Dissent

Saw this headline this morning and thought you, having written the article for The Whistleblower, would be interested: 'The Whistleblower' Director Larysa Kondracki Preps Follow-Up 'Dissent'. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 13:19, 17 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the link! --1ST7 (talk) 14:07, 19 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there, fellow FAC issue-haver

You more than likely don't know who I am, but Erik directed me to you. An FAC for a film article I wrote, The FP, has two supports but no comments from anyone other than those two supporters. Looking at your FAC for The Whistleblower, I see that mine is very likely to stall as well. I was wondering if you would be willing to take some time and read through the article, leave some comments and vote on the nomination. Whether you do or don't, I would be happy to comment on The Whistleblower's FAC, should you choose to renominate it. Sidenote; I'd recommend it, as it'll likely pass so long as it gets enough response. Very well done article.

If you don't want to, don't have the time, or just don't like me, I'll understand all the same :P Have an excellent day! Corvoe (speak to me) 20:56, 24 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I'd be happy to help. I don't know if I'll be able to finish by tomorrow, but I'll have the comments and vote posted within the next few days. Any feedback on The Whistleblower (which I'm probably going to renominate really soon) would be greatly appreciated. You have a great day too! --1ST7 (talk) 00:11, 25 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
@Corvoe:, just so you know, I've taken your suggestion and renominated The Whistleblower. See Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/The Whistleblower/archive2. --1ST7 (talk) 13:41, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome! I'm at work right now, but I'll be able to look through it tonight. I'm sure there'll be a support vote from me before the day ends (Eastern Time, at least). Corvoe (speak to me) 15:09, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for being willing to review it! --1ST7 (talk) 15:22, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Same to you! I'm going to make some preliminary comments now. Having some friends over until later tonight, then I'll finish out my review. Corvoe (speak to me) 21:45, 26 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello

Hello 1ST7, please take a look at Shaina NC and let me know. Thanks ! Abhi (talk) 17:34, 27 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Abhi: Sorry for the late reply! I'm confused; I don't know what it is you're asking me to do. --1ST7 (talk) 19:31, 6 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Complications at the FP's FAC

Due to an extensive (and in my opinion, excellent) copy-edit by a GOCE member, I wanted to check in with everyone who voted on the FAC. I'm sure you're pretty focused on The Whistleblower at the moment, and I totally understand that you may not have time to do this. If you can find the time, though, would you be willing to look through the article again and either confirm your vote or withdraw it with comment? If not, that's perfectly okay. Thank you again for your comments and support! Best of luck on The Whistleblower, it's looking like it'll pass. Corvoe (speak to me) 15:02, 30 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Corvoe: So sorry for the delay; I haven't had Internet access. Will look over the article again tomorrow. --1ST7 (talk) 23:29, 1 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
No sweat! Thank you for looking it over again for me, and for all your help thus far. Corvoe (speak to me) 01:36, 2 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The Whistleblower nationality

Hello! I thought I'd let you know I made a change to the nationality of the film, as AFI lists it as a co-production of Canada, Germany, and the United States. If there are other sources in the article that I missed that refute this, feel free to revert me. Good luck on your FAC! I see your images got screened, so that's a good sign! Corvoe (speak to me) 11:45, 8 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for catching that! --1ST7 (talk) 02:29, 9 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Congrats on The Whistleblower!

I saw it got passed on Wednesday. Congratulations! You did some fantastic work on that article. Corvoe (be heard) 02:08, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you! And thanks for reviewing it! --1ST7 (talk) 15:30, 19 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
