Manchester Institute of Innovation Research is a research centre based in Manchester Business School at the University of Manchester, England. It incorporates the centres PREST [1] and CRIC,[2] and establishes a grouping of researchers and teachers on technology and innovation management, innovation policy, foresight, and related topics. It is physically located in the Harold Hankins Building, Booth Street West, Manchester.

History

While the formulation "Manchester Institute of Innovation Research" applies to the new centre structure established in 2007, a looser federation of the constitutive research groups was established in 2003 as the Institute of Innovation Research. Built on more than four decades of unique experience, knowledge and capabilities, MIoIR is one of biggest research groups on innovation management and policy research in Europe.
