Justin Louis Raisen (born March 29th, 1982) is an American songwriter, record producer, recording engineer, lyricist, and multi-instrumentalist that resides in Highland Park (Highland Park wiki), California. Raisen's credits as a co-writer and producer include [[Sky Ferreira], Charli XCX, Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara, Little Boots, Mereki, Theophilus London, and Yadi.[1]

Personal life

Born in Miami, FL, he moved to Long Island, New York at age 2. He grew up in Massapequa Park, also home of Jerry Seinfeld. In 1994, at the age of 12, he moved to Amityville, NY, home of the infamous Amityville Horror house. [2]

Justin moved to Los Angeles, CA in 2007 and resides in Highland Park, CA with girlfriend and manager, Ashlee Gardner, co-owner of the legendary Cat and Fiddle Pub and Restaurant in Hollywood, CA. [3]

Producer and songwriter

In early 2011, MC Theophilus London released Lovers Holiday, an album containing 2 songs, “Why Even Try” [4] and “Strange Love” co-written by Raisen. “Strange Love” was also co-written by Sara Quin of Tegan and Sara. On February 14, 2011, Raisen performed "Why Even Try" with Theophilus London on Late Night with David Letterman.

Raisen co-wrote 6 of the 13 songs on Charli XcX's debut album, True Romancereleased in March 2013. The first two singles, "Stay Away" [5] and "Nuclear Seasons" [6], were co-written by Raisen and received Best New Track on Pitchfork.com. The album was also reviewed as best new music on Pitchfork.com [7].

Model and artist, Sky Ferreira, has announced her debut album, "Night Time, My Time", scheduled to be released on October 29th, 2013 on Capitol Records. Raisen co-wrote and co-produced all 12 songs on the album along with Ferreira and production partner, Ariel Rechtshaid.[8] Single, "You're Not The One" and it's music video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IFCZP1Nz3Ds, directed by Grant Singer [9], was released on September 24th, 2013.
