The Copa Indonesia 2009 Final[1] was an football match which was played on Sunday, 28 June 2009. It was the 4th final of the Piala Indonesia. The match was played at the Jakabaring Stadium in Palembang and was contested by Sriwijaya FC of Palembang and Persipura Jayapura from Papua. For Sriwijaya this was the second appearance in the final of the Piala Indonesia tournament, after consecutive Piala Indonesia final in 2007, with one trophy been won in 2007. For Persipura this was the third appearance in the final of the Piala Indonesia tournament, after consecutive Piala Indonesia final in 2006 and 2007, but always failed to win title in 2006 and 2007.
Sriwijaya get the championship, after Persipura refused to continue the match because he felt cheated by the referee. Problems will arise when the referee fraud Football Association of Indonesia select Sriwijaya FC stadium appointed as the organizer of the final, after ensuring universal Sriwijaya and Persipura become finalists.
