Cassiopée, born Véronique Lapierre, is a French Canadian singer born on the 16th of October 1977 in the province of Quebec. She has been the recipient of three prizes at the "Festival international de la chanson de Granby" in 2002.

Biography

In 2002, Cassiopée is the winner at the "Festival international de la chanson de Granby" where she wins the Interpret category and Best on-stage presence[1] · [2] during which she also receives the "Étoile Galaxie" prize. In 2004, she wins the "Félix du Spéctacle" prize for her interpretation in Don Juan, edited at Adisq. In 2006, she is herself a judge at the "FICG"[3]. In the same year she acquires the Radio-Star fund[4].


Cassiopée performed on stage more than 3000 times for national and international events[5]. Such representations includes Les Folie’s de Paris, Paris Paris[6], Don Juan, Si Alys m’était chantée, Du Rock à l’Opéra, Show Harley, Joe Dassin, la Grande Fête Musicale[7], Dracula, entre l'amour et la mort, Rencontres, Paris/Québec sous les Étoiles for the celebrations of Quebec City's 400th anniversary, Sherazade, les 1001 Nuits[8], etc. She has also been a solo artist during a charity event against cystic fibrosis [9] and for helping Mira Foundation [10]. She was also invited to perform during Canada Day's celebrations in Ottawa in 2009[11]. She also had the opportunity to sing for Prince Albert of Monaco during the annual ball of the Red-Cross[12].

Cassiopée appeared as a figurant in feature films and TV series such as Ma fille mon ange, Le cas Roberge, Dédé à travers les brumes, Légendes urbaines, La Promesse, Grande fille, Tout sur moi, Une grenade avec ça.
