Lex Green (born March 1, 1954) is an Illinois politician and electrician who is the Illinois Libertarian Party's nominee for Governor of Illinois in the 2010 Election. His running mate for Lt. Governor is Ed Rutledge.

Personal history

Green was born in Illinois in 1954 and currently lives in Bloomington, Illinois. He is an electrician with degree from Illinois Central College. Lex is employed at the Mitsubishi Motors automobile factory in Normal Illinois. He also works part time as Associate Producer of the internet entertainment show, Hook and Hunt TV, and an associate at Starlight Software Systems.[1]

Green has been a citizen of Illinois all of his life. He and his wife Karen have three children, Jeffrey, Tera and Matt.Lex graduated from Bloomington High School in 1972 as a member of the National Honor Society. He earned a degree in Electronic Technology at Illinois Central College. He is a member of the Bloomington Area 912 Project, the McLean County Campaign for Liberty, and the founder of the McLean County Freedom Coalition. He is also the secretary of the McLean County Libertarian Party and a member of the Libertarian Party of Illinois.[2]

2010 Run for Governor

On October 26, 2009, Lex Green was granted the Governor nomination from the Libertarian Party of Illinois at the LBT Convention on November 25, 2009, defeating James M. Jenne and Ray Lear. [3] Green has successfully received over 500 petitions for his candidacy deeming him eligible for the November 2nd election for Illinois State Governor. [4]
