Wu Zun (simplified Chinese: 吴尊; traditional Chinese: 吳尊; pinyin: Wú Zūn; Wade–Giles: Wu Tsun), also referred to as Wu Chun, is a Brunei-born actor of Han Chinese descent, singer, a former model, and gym instructor. He is the only non-Taiwanese born member of the boy band Fahrenheit, and is known for his roles in the Taiwanese idol dramas Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, Romantic Princess, Hot Shot and Tokyo Juliet.

Biography

Born Goh Kiat Chun (simplified Chinese: 吴吉尊; traditional Chinese: 吳吉尊; pinyin: wú jízūn) in Brunei on October 10, 1979[1], Wu studied at the Chung Hwa Middle School in Bandar Seri Begawan. He later graduated from the RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. Wu also played basketball for Brunei's national team. [citation needed] Prior to joining Fahrenheit, he was a model for Yi Lin (伊林) in Taiwan and for Diva Models in Singapore. Wu speaks — with varying degrees of fluency — Minnan, English, Cantonese, Malay, and Mandarin.[citation needed] He manages a family-owned gym club, Fitness Zone in Brunei. As of Aug 2007, Wu is appointed as the chairman of newly opened Palm Garden Hotel and its neighbouring multi-story Fitness Zone centre in Brunei. For his effort and success, Wu was awarded Young Entrepreneur of the Year in Brunei during the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards in August 2008 organized by the regional think-thank organization, Enterprise Asia.

Trivia

  • In response to a picture of him and his niece that was posted online, Chun said joking in an interview that he was married with three children. The "three children" that he referred to were the other three members of the Fahrenheit band. (He is the oldest in the band of four, and therefore he treats the other three members as "children".)
  • He is 1.83 meters tall.
  • Lost his mother at a young age.
  • Comes from a wealthy family with Chinese roots, from Kinmen County, of Fujian Province, Republic of China. His family owns the sole distributor company of Mitsubishi motors in his home country, Brunei.
  • Was a model in Singapore before going to Taiwan where he was discovered.
  • When Chun took part in Tokyo Juliet, he spoke unsatisfactory Mandarin because he wasn't a native, so producers had his voice dubbed.
  • Chun is the first Fahrenheit member to be in a film.
  • Aside from Fahrenheit, Wu Chun is also popular in the Philippines for his role in the Taiwanese drama Hanazakarino Kimitachihe, along with S.H.E member Ella Chen and another Fahrenheit member Jiro Wang. He rose further in popularity when Romantic Princess was shown in the Philippines; Calvin Chen is also a part of the drama and also gained popularity for his role. They recently rocked Manila doing some guestings in one of the Philippines' biggest TV networks, ABS-CBN.
  • In early 2009, Chun had an accident where the increased speed of his support string left Chun injured after the HK concert.
