Hetephernebti was a queen of the third dynasty of ancient Egypt. She was the only known wife of Pharaoh Djoser.[1]

Biography

Hetephernebti was born as a Princess. She was a daughter of Khasekhemwy and Queen Nimaethap. One of her titles was "King's daughter".

Hetephernebti married her brother Djoser with who she had a daughter, Inetkaes, who was named on stelae found around Djoser's Sakkara pyramid complex and on a Heliopolis relief showing Djoser accompanied by the two of them.[2]

Hetephernebti's titles were "One who sees Horus", "Great of sceptre" (both common for important queens in this period), also, she was called "King's Daughter".[3]
