William S. W. Lim

William S.W. Lim, born Hong Kong (Chinese: 香港) 1932 is an architect. He graduated from the Architectural Association in London, England and did graduate work at Harvard University . Lim was a Fulbright Fellow in the Department of City and Regional Planning at Harvard University. In 1957 he worked in Singapore and Malaysia in several businesses as a partner. His work was in design of modernist structures for residential and commercial interests. He went on to build large scale shopping centers in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Among his structures are The People's Park in 1973 in Singapore. This structure became the model for commercial development in the city. He also build the Golden Mile Shopping Center and Tanglin Shopping Center. He built St. Andrews Junior College as well as housing projects. In 1986 he started his own business. He is founding member of the Singapore Heritage Society. [1]Lim is a co-founder and was chairman of Asian Urban Lab in 2003. He was president of the Architectural Association of Asia. Currently he is Adjunct Professor of the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) University, Australia, and Guest Professor at Tianjin University, China.
