Herbstosaurus (meaning "Herbst's lizard") is the name given to a genus of pterosaur. It was first thought to be a Compsognathus-like small coelurosaurian dinosaur. Herbstosaurus lived during the Jurassic period, in what is now Argentina. The type species, H. pigmaeus, was described in 1974.
