Dr Craig Anthony Emerson (born 25 January 1947), Australian politician, has been am Australian Labor Party member of the Australian House of Representatives since October 1998, representing the Division of Rankin, Queensland. He was born in Baradine, New South Wales, and was educated at Sydney University and the Australian National University, Canberra, where he gained a doctorate in economics.

Emerson was an economic analyst with the United Nations, an economic adviser to the Minister for Resources and Energy and the Minister for Finance, an Assistant Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, and economic and environmental adviser to the Prime Minister (Bob Hawke), before coming Director-General of the Queensland Department of Environment in 1990. He was Chief Executive Officer of the South East Queensland Transit Authority 1995-96.

Emerson became a member of the Opposition Shadow Ministry in November 2001 and has been Shadow Minister for Workplace Relations and the Public Service since December 2003.
