Rock salt crystal

Bahadur Khel is a village and Union Council of Karak District in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan.[1] It is located at 33°10'57N 70°57'15E with an altitude of 548 metres (1801 feet)[2], the village is the site of an extensive rock salt quarry. The quarry (one mile long by half a mile broad) produce high quality rock salt suitable for human consumption. The facility is managed by the Pakistan Mineral Development Corporation.

History

During British rule the area was part of the old Kohat District[3] and the facility was under the control of the Northern India Salt Department, a government body of British India.

Bahader khel is union concil whice is 7 big willages 1. Bahader Khel 2. Darish Khel 3. Ghol Banda 4. Anar Banda 5. Shaheedan Banda 6. Charpara banda 7. Shaheedan Darish Khel is the oldest village of this area.

The current Union Nazim is Master zardad khattak Bahadur khel has produced some great name like Khushal khan(kaka g) the famous and one of the leading communist leader of 20th century of subcontinent. The former provincial minister of NWFP Mr. Abdul Haleem Khattak also belong to bahadur khel.
