Vivek Kundra

Vivek Kundra is the Chief Technology Officer in Washington DC in 2008. He has been recognized for interesting work in developing programs to spur open source and crowd sourced applications using publicly accessible Web services from the District of Columbia. He was appointed by Mayor Adrian M. Fenty on March 27, 2007.

His efforts to use cloud-based Web applications have been considered innovative within government.

Mr. Kundra is advising President Elect Obama's transition committee on technology issues.
