A Platform Indepent Model is a model of a software or business system that is independent of the specific technological platform used to implement it.

For example HTML defines a model for hypertext that includes concepts such as title, headings, paragraphs, etc.

This model is not linked to a specific Operating System or browser and has threfore being successfully implemented on a variety of different computing systems.

The term Platform Indepent Model is most frequently used in the context of Model Driven Architectures.
