United States gravity control propulsion initiative

Thank you for the Did You Know notice. It was an extremely pleasant surprise! Tcisco (talk) 19:37, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the tip!

Thanks so much for the tip on Special:Unwatchedpages - I was pretty sure I had read about it somewhere, but I am not sure I would have ever found it on my own. Ruhrfisch ><>°° 13:48, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

I hope you had a splendid vacation. Did you get anything for new articles? If you don't mind, could you take a look at Tim Pawlenty? Perhaps some compromise language would satisfy everyone involved. Thanks.--Appraiser (talk) 13:51, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I worked on getting some pictures for NRHP properties in Florida (between Tampa and Crystal River and inland to Inverness). But then I checked on the existing articles, and it turns out that Ebyabe has taken pictures of virtually all the relevant properties already. The guy's productive, that's for sure :-) I visited Henry B. Plant Museum (with pretty spectacular architecture), Ybor City, Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park, Tarpon Springs Historic District, and more. Actually, the whole point of the vacation was to do a bunch of inline skating, which I did plenty of along the Withlacoochee State Trail, Upper Tampa Bay Trail, and the Pinellas Trail. It was a good trip. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 13:45, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

Positive image

Welcome back. Elkman and Appraiser, could you possibly help me with the user who has been escalating and is now prolonging whatever on the talk page of Star Tribune? -Susanlesch (talk) 16:22, 13 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've looked into the situation at Talk:Star Tribune, but I can't really come up with any particular "right" or "wrong" answer about the dispute at hand. I will suggest, however, that you might be taking the dispute rather personally when it isn't meant to be a personal issue or attack against your editing. There's room for reasoned discussion on these issues, and I think that just about any article on Wikipedia can be made stronger if the viewpoints of multiple editors are considered and a consensus is built. It's not always an easy process, and it might be frustrating when things don't go the way you want them to, but it doesn't pay to take things personally. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 00:03, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Easy for you to say. I could have dropped dead of a heart attack. No I am not kidding. -Susanlesch (talk) 00:40, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yesterday 25 pigeons flew over and landed on the National Pheasant Fest 25th Anniversary billboard on 50th Street and Xerxes Avenue in southwest Minneapolis, Minnesota. An exaggeration and I spilled hot cocoa on my winter coat which will now need to be dry cleaned. So the net cost of this incident is neglible, weighed in the balance of all things you see. Users Angela and SilkTork took care of this, with some help from Users Bobak, SEWilco and Appraiser and a cast of Lord, or Lady, or Whatever one may prefer, knows how many billion people. When I was your age this was called the Butterfly effect, a relative of chaos theory and zero population growth which at the time was known as ZPG. But you would have no way to know this, Elkman. Nor that one US letter Canon print of this photo was a prize for one of the recipients of Best Editor of All Time. That's ok? -Susanlesch (talk) 14:01, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I want to know more about the best phone call of all time :). And Susan, I want you to know that you are appreciated. Please don't have a heart attack over anything going on here. You are a value to our community.--Appraiser (talk) 15:13, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise I am sure. So when does who nominate you for administrator, Appraiser? -Susanlesch (talk) 16:59, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for supporting my RFA

<font=3> Thanks for your support, my request for adminship passed 62/0/0 yesterday!

I want to thank Snowolf and Dincher for nominating me, those who updated the RfA tally, and everyone for their support and many kind words. I will do my best to use the new tools carefully and responsibly (and since you are reading this, I haven't yet deleted your talk page by accident!). Please let me know if there is anything I can do to be of assistance, and keep an eye out for a little green fish with a mop on the road to an even better encyclopedia.

Thanks again and take care, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just so you know I am still working on articles, see Snyder Middleswarth Natural Area (not done) thnaks again, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 21:42, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

St. Anthony Laboratory

Hello, Elkman. Today a young woman at the laboratory said that a tour might be arranged sometime in the future. I wonder, would you and whomever and Appraiser and whomever and whomever else I didn't get a chance to speak to at the Minnesota Wikipedia meetup would be interested? I will be in Minneapolis until mid-January. -Susanlesch (talk) 20:28, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Changed my mind. I think the three of us should go, if that is possible (unlikely) and all right with you and Appraiser. They said they opened in the 1930s. By the way, today the Mississippi looked like it was flowing upstream, but maybe it looks that way every day? Link to the laboratory. -Susanlesch (talk) 08:05, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That tour sounds like it would be interesting, so count me in. Let me know when you can get something set up. As for the Mississippi flowing upstream, that might be an optical illusion, but if the falls reversed direction and flowed upward, that would be big news and I'd love to see it.  :) --Elkman (Elkspeak) 13:21, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Wow I forgot that term, yes it must have been an optical illusion. Thanks. -Susanlesch (talk) 10:33, 22 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Block

Hey, so in blocking some vandal, you blocked the IP that he/she was logged in on, even though they were registered, and I wound up getting a block, for using a computer at the same library. Isn't there some way to allow established registered users to use an IP even if some jerk is messing it up? It's frustrating to think that now I have a block on my log because of somebody else. Murderbike (talk) 21:54, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, the blocked was User:JrsportsfanatikII. Where would I put that "unblock" template? Will I be able to put that somewhere if I'm blocked from editing? Murderbike (talk) 22:24, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Cool, thanks a lot!!! Murderbike (talk) 22:31, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

DRV subpage move

Thanks for fixing my error in moving the Barbara Schwarz review to the proper subpage. Damn laptop keyboard... ~ trialsanderrors (talk) 15:54, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fitger

Were you hoarding that picture? :) I suppose I should peruse your Flickr account. Thanks.--Appraiser (talk) 23:33, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Frtg66678

Something needs to be done about this guy. Even if he leaves this matter to rest, I doubt he will stop acting like this completely. He will just find other people to "warn". I've reverted enough vandalism and have fought enough vandals to know they don't just pack up and quit.

What do you suggest? -- Xompanthy (talk) 17:29, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, good. I was getting tired. You made the right decision, he was a blatant vandal. That coal picture made chuckle though :). Happy holidays to you to man! -- Xompanthy (talk) 18:04, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

Dear Elkman, I wanted to wish you a very Merry Christmas and all the best for the New Year! Yours, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 22:36, 24 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Season's Greetings

Season's Greetings from my hometown, Minneapolis, Minnesota. Boy times have changed since, I think it was about 1994. So much overhead to lug around, but nothing the woman I met in the San Diego DMV couldn't write around in about 2 seconds with something called "ST Include" for Windows. Only kidding, I forgot the program's name but writing around an operating system would be quite easy for someone who completed studies in India recently. Best wishes for the new year from someone who recognizes your name from Wikipedia. And you helped me so much in about one email. -Susanlesch (talk) 19:47, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

well can you please

watch the famous Dr. Nat? link deleted. Dr Nat (talk) 18:15, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I already did, in the process of checking out the claimed copyright violation. I was unimpressed. --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:14, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Heh that's not me either. Dr Nat (talk) 19:22, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't post your link again on my talk page -- or anywhere. I don't post encyclopedia articles as comments on your YouTube account, so why are you posting your links on my page? --Elkman (Elkspeak) 19:37, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
You don't know my youtube account. Dr Nat (talk) 19:45, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Can I create an encyclopedia article on the video? I don't know how to use this website properly. Dr Nat (talk) 19:53, 28 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
