Betrothal in a Monastery (Obrucheniye v monastïrein in transliteration) is an opera in four acts by Sergei Prokofiev to a Russian libretto by the composer and his second wife Mira Mendelson, based on Richard Brinsley Sheridan’s comic opera libretto The Duenna. First performance: National Opera Theatre, Prague, 1946.
