AussieMite is an Australian company producing savory food spread. Its primary uses are for toasts and sandwiches.[1] It was founded by Roger Ramsey in 2001.[2]
History
AussieMite was founded by Roger Ramsey, an agricultural pilot, inventor and the founder of Australian company All Natural Foods.[3] The product was launched into Australian supermarkets in 2001 and in 2011 AussieMite was launched into the United Kingdom, The United States of America, United Arab Emirates and South East Asia.[4] It is a registered trademark in Australia, the United Kingdom, European Union, United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Japan, South East Asia and Asia.[5][6] In 2020, Australian retailer Woolworths announced they would stop selling the product in favour of products from the more popular Vegemite brand.[7]
Ingredients
The main ingredients of AussieMite are corn and maltodextrin. Other ingredients are yeast, sugar, citric acid and caramel color.[8][non-primary source needed]

AussieMite contains less than 1 gram of fat. A serving of 5 grams contains 9.9 calories. It contains significant amount of B vitamins, similary to other savory spreads like thiamine, riboflavin, Niacin, Vitamin B6, folic acid and Vitamin B12.
