Enrico Camillo Perotti (born May 16, 1959) is a Dutch economist and Professor of International Finance at the University of Amsterdam[1].
Perotti's research spans various fields, including macrofinance, banking, corporate finance, organization theory, and historical discontinuities in legal and financial history. His recent research focuses on structural breaks in economic growth, inequality, financial stagnation, and demand for safety. He has acted as a consultant for the World Bank, IMF, European Comission, and various central banks. He is currently also a member of the Advisory Scientific Committee, advising the General Board of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB)[2]. Furthermore, Perotti has been appointed senior advisor to DNB Board [3]. He is a Research Fellow at the Tinbergen Institute Amsterdam since 1996 and a CEPR Fellow [4][5].
Education and academic career
Perotti was born in Asti, Italy. He completed his early education at Liceo Zucchi in Monza, Italy. He obtained his Laurea in Discipline Economiche e Sociali from Università Bocconi, Milan, Italy. In 1984 Perotti pursued a PhD in Finance at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), where he completed his doctoral studies in 1990 under the supervision of Franco Modigliani and Jean Tirole [6].
From 1989 to 1994, he was Assistant Professor at Boston University's Graduate School of Management [7]. In 1994, he joined the University of Amsterdam as a Professor of International Finance and served as the Department Head from 2001 to 2008.
Perotti has held various visiting appointments at MIT, Harvard, Oxford, Columbia Business School, London Business School, and the LSE [8].

Personal Life
Perotti is the father of two daughters and is an enthusiastic reader, traveler, and hiker. He enjoys rowing on the Amstel river in Amsterdam and, during the frosty seasons, can even be spotted skating on it.
