Withdrawal/returning
After discussions on dat Georgia should withdraw due to the Russian participation in the 2008 South Ossetia war in Georgia In August 2008 Georgian Public Broadcaster announced a boycott could be held. In December 2008 it was announced if Georgia should return at the contest.Due the fact that they had won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2008,they confirmed that they return.
National selection
Its unknown of a selection from Georgia,but internal selection seems likely,due they had late confirmed there participation.
At Eurovision
Since Georgia came 11th in the final of the 2008 contest they will have to compete in one of the two semi-finals in Moscow.
